Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D) is available only through private insurers that are approved through Medicare. You can purchase a stand-alone plan (MA-PD), or your drug coverage can be included with your Medicare Advantage Plan. Prices and coverage may vary from plan to plan , so call our office and we can do research some plans and help you choose a plan that meets your needs.

Part D has a late enrollment penalty so it’s important that you enroll as soon as you become eligible. Eligibility begins when turning 65 and starting Part A of Medicare (you may enroll starting 3 months before your 65th birthday, the month of your birthday, and up to 3 months after your birth month). In some cases a person may qualify for Medicare under 65 due to disability and may be eligible for Medicare sooner. Also if you carry group health insurance while working past 65 that contains credible drug coverage you can delay buying Part D coverage without penalty by enrolling within 60 days of losing the credible employer coverage.

Our agency represents the following carriers in the Part D market: Humana, Silver Scripts, and Aetna
